What do you get the star who has everything?  Well, Charlie just hit a homerun with Tim McGraw!
Tim made an appearance in my hometown of Rogersville, TN a few years ago and certainly made a wonderful impression on everyone involved in our cancer benefit.  Besides all the wonderful food the town bestowed upon Tim and the band, one friend of mine whose name is Fred, gave me some important memorabilia to give to Tim.  This is not just your ordinary memorabilia, and I knew it would have deep meaning for Tim. Get a load of what Fred sent to Tim:  an autographed picture button, an autographed magazine cover, and an autographed rookie card... all of Tim's dad, baseball great Tug McGraw.  Tim had seen, but did not possess any of these items, but now he does!  He kept saying, "Awesome!"
It is uncanny how Tim and Tug look like twins. In fact, Tim made the crack:  "It's hard to believe he got away with going as long as he did without claiming me!"  BeforeTug died of cancer, he and Tim had established a great and loving relationship. But Charlie, was there an ounce of desire in you to keep this memorabilia in your own collection?
The easy answer is yes.... but in reality, the answer is no, I didn't want to keep it because this was a special request from my friend Fred to pass the items along to Tim. I also knew that Tim would really appreciate them because he and Faith are moving into a new house and Tim has a special section of his office dedicated to his dad. It was so pleasing to see that smile on Tim's face. Now he's a guy who really does have everything!
